Ask the papers: Privacy Notice
Effective October 12, 2026
This notice covers Ask the papers at https://research.microgreensworld.com. It adds to the Microgreens World Privacy Policy at https://microgreensworld.com/privacy-policy/. Here is what the app collects, what it does not, and who else is involved.
What we collect
- Your email address. You sign in with it, and we send your sign-in codes and membership emails to it.
- Your membership record: whether you are a member, your plan's renewal or end date, and the ID numbers Stripe gives us for your customer and subscription records.
- Sign-in records. When you ask for a sign-in code, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your email and internet address to stop abuse. We can't read either one back from it.
- Usage counts. We count what kind of thing you did (a chat, a search, a question across papers, an export), which paper it was on, and when. We use the counts to run and improve the app.
What we do not collect
- Your AI key. It stays in your own browser. It is not sent to Microgreens World or stored on our servers.
- A record of your questions or the answers you get. When you search or ask across many papers, your search words go to our server so it can find matching passages. We don't save them. The AI's answers never pass through our servers.
- Your card number. Stripe handles your payment. We never see or store your card.
- PDFs you open from your own computer. Your browser reads the file. It never reaches our servers.
Who else is involved
- Stripe takes payments and sends receipts. Stripe's privacy policy applies to your payment details.
- The AI company you choose (Anthropic, OpenAI or Google). Your browser sends your question, and the paper text needed to answer it, straight to that company with your key. That company's privacy policy applies to what it receives.
- Supabase stores the app's database and files for us.
- Resend delivers sign-in codes and membership emails for us.
- Lovable hosts the app's pages and counts visits: which pages were opened, where a visit came from, the kind of device and the country. We see totals, not names.
We don't sell your personal information.
Your browser
The app keeps a few things in your browser so it works: your sign-in, and your AI key for the visit. If you tick "Keep my key on this device", the key stays in that browser until you choose "Remove my key".
How long we keep it
We keep your membership record for as long as you are a member, and afterward for as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Your choices
- See or change your billing: Account, then Manage billing.
- Remove your AI key: Account, then Remove my key.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion: email support@microgreensworld.com. We will answer within 30 days.
Children
Ask the papers is for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If this notice changes, we will post the new version here with a new date.
